Have you ever thought that we are only the master of what we can give ? This seems paradoxical. Continue reading

All that is needed is an awakening

One night the great German philosopher, Professor Von Kochenbach, saw two doors in a dream, one of which led directly to love and paradise, and the other to an auditorium where a lecture was being given on love and paradise. There was no hesitation on Von Kochenbach’s part –he darted in to hear the lecture.
Attaining through ‘effortless effort’
So there are two ways to grow. One way is the way of effort, resolve labour. There you are the master. Whatever you do you are the planner. Then whatsoever you attain is nothing but your own game. Much can certainly be achieved through effort, through labour and resolve. But whatever you attain will be smaller than you. And whatsoever you attain is called the world. What you get through resolve and labour is worldly. Your ego is strengthened by it. – it is a search for your own ego.

Book Recommendation – The Voice of Silence by Osho

Brilliant Book that was presented to me by a fellow spiritual aspirant. It is not a well known book but well worth a read.
– One Tusk
Catching a Glimpse
Sometimes just watching the sun rise in the morning, you are overtaken by a wave of peace. Or sometimes at night, lying down on the ground and gazing up at the stars above, suddenly , all is filled with silence. Or in a moment of love, or listening to some music, or seeing a dancer perform, something becomes a dance with you too. In such moments you catch a glimpse of that music. Continue reading
If the saint can only see that the unsaintly are just the other side of the same coin
If the intellectual can only see that the idiot is just the other side of the same coin, his insulting attitude, his disregard for the idiot will disappear and a feeling of brotherhood will be born. Continue reading
We are all waves of one vast ocean…
You were in a state of non-duality before your birth, and after death you will return to that same state. Just for a while, in between, there is this wave with all its sound and fury , its momentary rising and its dance in the sunshine. And so for a time the wave gets the idea that “I also exist”.
Each wave must feel that it is separate from the ocean, it must. And it must also feel that all waves rising around it are separate from it. It must feel like this – and there is a logic behind it. If the wave has its logic , if it has its own intelligence, then it will wonder, “How can I be one with other waves?” It may think, “Some waves are so small, some are so big. We are all so different – how can it be that we are all one?” It will also wonder, “Some waves are falling , while I am just beginning to rise, s how can I be one with the falling waves? If I were one with the falling waves, I would be falling too. Or if a falling wave were really one with me, it would also be rising, like I am.” Continue reading
real thing or mere reflection of self…
Sufi mystic Shibli was asked, “Who guided you in the Path?”
He said: “A dog. One day I saw him, almost dead with thirst, standing by the water’s edge. Every time he looked at his reflection in the water he was frightened, and withdrew, because he thought it was another dog.
“In this same way my own obstacle vanished, when I knew that it was what I took to be my own self. And my Way was first shown to me by the behavior of a dog.”
Just two miles
Buddha was moving from one town to another. They had lost their way. They asked a few villagers on the way, “How far until the next town?”
They said, “Just two miles,” as is always said in India. Whether it is fifty miles or twenty miles, it makes no difference; villagers always say, “Just two miles.” Continue reading
Just drop the whole load!
A man had gathered ten thousand golden rupees. And at that time, the rupee was really gold; the word ‘rupee’ simply means gold. And this was his desire – that one day when they were ten thousand, he would offer them to Ramakrishna, of course, to gain virtue in the other life. When small donations are given and people are getting great virtues… for ten thousand gold pieces you can purchase even God’s own house!
