Spiritual humility should not be confused with its social interpretation as ‘humiliation’. Paradoxically, the spiritually humble cannot be humiliated, and therefore, faults can be accepted without loss of self-esteem. Owning one’s own inner flaws allows for nonjudgmental respect for others and opens the door to compassion for all humanity.
