Enormous quantities of water pour into the ocean but the ocean remains unaffected. Though both comprise water, rivers have a form of separateness, while the ocean knows no boundaries. Each river has distinct nature of its own, its own individuality. But when it reaches the ocean its individuality merges into the totality. It becomes one with the ocean . Similarly each human being rushes to the world seeking infinite happiness. However worldly happiness is of a finite nature. So he continues to seek until he reaches the infinite happiness of self realisation…..All worldly enjoyment are to him as waters of rivers are to the ocean.
Bhagavad Gita – A .Parthasarathy.
